Friday night at the Ice Bears game, baseball came to the hockey rink for Tennessee Smokies night!
Members of the AA pro baseball club promoted the upcoming season for their Chicago Cubs' farm team.
"Things are looking good again for the Cubs and the Smokies," Smokies GM Brian Cox said. "It's a great affiliation we have and a chance to really, see the stars of tomorrow."
Smokies general manager Brian Cox, his wife Cindy and their sons Brady and Logan caught the Ice Bears win against Fayetteville.
"hockey and baseball do go together," he told us, "There's some great similarities there, and you know what, there's a lot of fans that go to hockey games that also go to baseball, and the same way back."
Hockey fans can catch the Tennessee Smokies kick-off their home season a month from now with a 5 game home stand against the Chattanooga Lookouts.
Smokies opening day is Wednesday, April 14th - game Time 7:15 at Smokies park, which is just off interstate 40 in Kodak. The team's celebrating it's 10th anniversary in the new stadium.
