One of the Ice Bears largest crowds of the season is expected Friday night at the Civic Coliseum. Why? - it's a dog-gone entertaining holiday weekend!
It's the first of two nights this season of wiener dog races held right on the ice surface. Dachshund owners are fired up - and their their pups are ready to go again in this fan favorite event! If you want to enter a wiener dog in the race contact the Ice Bears front office at 525-puck. And if you don't already have tickets, get yours early Friday. Game day is the day after Thanksgiving and it's almost always a sell-out.
Also the Ice Bears are asking fans to bring bath towels and dry pet food to the game to donate to the Young-Williams Animal Shelter. That night is also the Louisiana Icegators first visit to Knoxville. The Ice Bears beat the Icegators 5-to-2 in their first meeting of the season, which happened last week.
